When I joined Dropbox, one of the big questions was how to make work feel more human. A pretty abstract idea, until I saw what happened when you gave people a simple way to appreciate each other.
Enter the Gratitude Post, a concept established long before my time at Dropbox. A little digital mailbox for sending thank-yous, thinking-of-yous, and the occasional "hey, nice job on that presentation."
And here's the thing: when you make it easy for people to say something nice, they actually do. More appreciation, more connection, and a little more joy in the workday. I got to designs dozens and dozens of these little moments of joy.
