Goldbug Collections

Goldbug Collections

PROJECT BRIEF:

Goldbug Collection is a Charleston-based jewelry brand founded by sisters Mini and Kathleen Hay Hagood. Their work blends Southern heritage with playful artistry, creating pieces that feel both refined and full of personality.

I developed a vibrant brand identity system that captures Goldbug’s eclectic charm and coastal roots. Inspired by Charleston’s flora, fauna, and the brand’s namesake insect, the visual language combines whimsical illustration with bold typography and unexpected color pairings.

YEAR:

2024

Inspired by the unofficial lowcountry mascot, the palmetto bug. The cross on the back of the bug is inspired by the letterforms of the logo as well as a reference to the Holy City, Charleston, where Goldbug was founded.

This illustration was developed to be used on merchandise and print materials to give the brand a deeper story.

The illustration style for the Goldbug Collections brand is casual, sketchy and youthful. Illustrated in colored pencil and best paired with playful typography.
